Tellapur to Gachibowli and Beyond: The Distances
Here’s how far the main job hubs are from Tellapur. These are straight-line distances, worked out from the map points Wikipedia gives for each place. They’re about, as the crow flies. You’ll drive further, because roads don’t run straight.

One catch: the Tellapur point is the village centre, not any one project gate. A home at Kollur Junction, right by the ORR, starts closer to the highway than one deeper inside Tellapur. The arithmetic is ours.

Every project brochure here prints drive times. They’re worth knowing, but read them as best-case figures. Here’s what My Home says for three of its projects in Tellapur.

A dash means we didn’t note a figure for that project. The Tellapur to Gachibowli times match for Vipina and Udyan. Now notice the gaps. Two projects a short walk apart quote different times to the same airport. That doesn’t make anyone wrong. It just shows these are marketing numbers, timed on a quiet road.
The honest negative: none of these figures says what time of day it was driven. At peak hour, the Tellapur to Gachibowli run is the one that slows down, on the stretch into the office towers. Tellapur to Gachibowli at 6 pm isn’t the same trip as at noon.
Tellapur to Gachibowli by Road
Most people drive Tellapur to Gachibowli on the ORR, and it’s the quickest way in. The Outer Ring Road is a 158 km, eight-lane ring around the city, and its Narsingi–Patancheru stretch, 23.7 km long, opened on 14 August 2011 and passes Kollur.
From Kollur Junction you head south on the ORR towards Narsingi and turn off for Gachibowli. My Home says that’s 12 minutes from Vipina. Straight-line, Tellapur to Gachibowli is about 7.2 km.
The Tellapur to Gachibowli drive depends on two parts. What the ORR gives you is a fast, signal-free run for most of the trip. What it can’t fix is the last stretch, from the exit into the office towers, which is where the time goes at 9 am.
Tellapur to the Financial District
The Financial District (Nanakramguda) is about 9.0 km from Tellapur in a straight line. It sits just inside the ORR, south of Gachibowli, so the route is the same ORR run with a different exit.
My Home puts it at 10 minutes from Vipina, the same as Kokapet and two minutes less than Tellapur to Gachibowli. If your office is here, you’re on the right side of the city: you don’t cross Gachibowli to reach it. Our Financial District area guide covers the district itself.
There’s also a cycle option for the fit. Wikipedia notes a 14.5 km solar-roofed cycle track along the ORR from Narsingi to Kollur, and the Vipina brochure mentions a 4.5-metre-wide track from Kollur Junction to TSPA Junction. We haven’t timed it.
Tellapur to HITEC City
HITEC City is the furthest of the big hubs, about 10.8 km from Tellapur as the crow flies. My Home says 22 minutes from Vipina, double its Gachibowli figure, because you go through Gachibowli to get there.
Unlike Tellapur to Gachibowli, this trip has a rail option. Lingampalli station is about 3.8 km from Tellapur, and Hitec City railway station shows on the Vipina brochure map. We haven’t checked train times, so look them up for the hour you’d travel.
Tellapur to Kokapet
Kokapet is about 9.7 km away, south along the ORR, with an interchange of its own. My Home quotes 10 minutes from Vipina.
That matters if you’re weighing a Tellapur home against one in Kokapet itself. You’d be about the same drive from the Financial District, so the choice comes down to the home and the price, not the commute. Our Kokapet area guide covers the other side of the choice.
Tellapur to the Airport
Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is about 30.8 km from Tellapur in a straight line. The ORR runs all the way round to it, which is why builders here quote 30 to 35 minutes. Allow more for an early flight on a weekday.
Tellapur by Rail and Metro
Tellapur has a station on the MMTS, Hyderabad’s suburban rail. Wikipedia says the 6 km Tellapur–R.C. Puram stretch opened on 9 June 2019 as part of Phase II.
Lingampalli is the bigger hub nearby. It’s the end point of two MMTS lines, Falaknuma–Lingampalli and Hyderabad–Lingampalli. We haven’t checked how often trains run, so don’t plan a daily commute on it until you’ve tried it.
There’s no metro in Tellapur. The nearest working stations are Miyapur, at the end of the Red Line, about 9.9 km away, and Raidurg, at the end of the Blue Line, about 10.2 km away. The Phase 2A plan, cleared by the state in November 2024 and awaiting the centre, has a Miyapur–Patancheruvu line and a Raidurg–Kokapet Neopolis line. Neither names a Tellapur station, and there’s no date.
Buses run too, but we haven’t checked route numbers. Ask TGSRTC locally for a Tellapur to Gachibowli bus that fits your hours, and time one trip before you count on it.
How to Test the Tellapur to Gachibowli Commute
- Drive Tellapur to Gachibowli at your real hours. Leave at the time you’d leave for work and come back at 6 pm, on a weekday.
- Start from the gate, not the highway. Time the Tellapur to Gachibowli run from the project entrance to the ORR exit.
- Drive the last kilometre. The jam is usually between the ORR exit and your office car park.
- Try the train once. Walk or ride to Tellapur or Lingampalli station and see what the trip really takes.
- Check school runs too. A short office drive doesn’t help if the school is the other way.
